About the press.
An independent imprint working out of a small workshop. We print books we'd want on our own shelves — translations, recoveries, and small-edition first runs.
Founded above a river, in a printshop.
We began in 2014 with a single translation we couldn't bear to see remain untranslated. A used proofing press, a borrowed loft, and a list of fifty titles we'd one day reissue.
A decade later, we still print every book in-house. We've added a small staff of editors and translators, but the catalogue is curated the same way it always was — slowly, and with disagreement.
We believe in books that take their time. We don't run sales. We tell you who edited what you bought. Every copy ships in our recyclable mailer with a hand-written colophon card.

Patience
We sit with manuscripts for months before deciding. The catalogue grows by 8–12 titles a year, no more.
Provenance
Every book lists its editor, translator, typesetter, and binder. The colophon card travels with the book.
All editions are physical first. Acid-free paper, hand-sewn signatures, and recyclable mailer envelopes.
